The FALL 2002 playoffs are eagerly anticipated and promise to be as hotly contested as the regular season. Below we provide a preview for the C League. This preview is only intended for discussion fodder and entertainment value. Good luck to all in their ‘Run to the Long Island Cup’.

This playoff has perhaps the most prohibitive favorite heading into extra hockey. Having spanked each one of their rivals at least once during the season the GN-BRUINS appear set to return to championship glory. The Bruins have no weakness. They scored the most goals and allowed the fewest en route to their first place finish. Their defense and goaltending are unrivaled and it seemingly will take some divine intrusion to disrupt their championship drive. One of two teams to defeat the Bruins are the KLASH. The Klash suffered early as heavy roster turnover made for a disjointed and rocky start. They did, however, find their groove and closed strong to secure second. Goaltending and defensive consistency are the keys for they do not possess the explosive offensive firepower to overcome large deficits. The only other team to conquer the Bruins was the COURT OFFICERS. The Court Officers are the antithesis of the Klash. Their ability to win lies almost solely in the scoring success of their big three. The Officers play aggressive and look to disrupt the flow of their opponents flow. Looking to right a sinking ship, the CAPITALS are apparently heading in the wrong direction. They have faltered after a strong start. The key is willingness to play together and focus their offensive potential into a complete gameplan of teamwork and defense. The last team to qualify was the PIONEERS. The Pioneers are a dangerous foe in these playoffs. Their strength is their dedication to skate and play hard every shift. While not as strong offensively or defensivley, the Pioneers undoubtedly will be a difficult and painful out.
